MSIT program is currently offered on the IIIT Hyderabad campus, and is a completely residential program like all the other programs offered by IIIT Hyderabad. Students will have to reside on the campus (in the IIIT Hyderabad hostels) and attend all academic activities in person.

The MSIT program is a full-time program, where students are expected to devote nearly 12 hrs each day to various academic activities. Therefore, this program is not suitable for working professionals who wish to pursue this course part-time while still continuing their employment

The MSIT program is a part of IIIT Hyderabad, and on successful completion of the program students are awarded the Master of Science in Information Technology degree by IIIT Hyderabad. IIIT Hyderabad is a deemed university, recognized by UGC and approved by AICTE.

Yes, students can pursue higher education after completing MSIT. Several of our alumni have joined masters / PhD programs both in India and abroad.

MSIT has had a nearly 100% placement record over the past couple of years. The package offered depends on a variety of factors: academic record (both before MSIT and during the MSIT program), previous work experience etc. Over the past couple of years, MSIT graduates have averaged packages of around 8 - 10 lakh per annum. Some of the companies that have regularly recruited MSIT students over the past couple of years are American Express, TCS Digital, Quantana, TechMojo. Apart from these, many other companies also recruit from MSIT.

MSIT offers three specialization tracks: (1) Artificial Intelligence, (2) Data Science and (3) Full Stack App development. Students choose one specialization track in their 3rd semester and complete all courses in that specialization.

MSIT program is a 4 semester, 16 months master’s program offered by IIIT Hyderabad that follows learning by doing pedagogy. The first three semesters are devoted to coursework, while the last semester is the practicum / industrial internship.

In order to successfully graduate from the MSIT program, students must complete 64 credits of coursework in Computer Science + 12 credits of Communication and Presentation skills, including a four-month-long Practicum leading to the award of the MS in Information Technology degree by IIIT Hyderabad. Students will also be able to choose a specialization across Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Full Stack App Development.

All applicants to the MSIT program must satisfy the following criterion Completed either BTech/BE (all branches), MSc (Maths), MSc(Statistics), MA (Maths), MA(Statistics), MCA Students currently in the final year of their qualifying degree can also apply, provided they complete all requirements of the qualifying degree by the start date of the program.

The current fee structure of the MSIT program is as follows: Tuition fees: Rs 75,000/- per semester (Rs 75,000/- per semester x 4 semesters = Rs 3,00,000/- for the entire program) Hostel and mess charges: Rs 15,000/- (hostel) + Rs 22,000/- (mess) per semester* * Hostel and mess charges are subject to periodic revision by IIIT Hyderabad.
